SAVE YOUR
LIFE, DITCH THE KNIFE!
Recent
publicised attacks on youths show that knife crime is on the
increase. It is true that not everybody is going to be
subjected to an unprovoked attack,
KB Fitness does not attempt to scaremonger in any way.
That said, sadly crime is a reality. Even though it might not
affect everybody, daily it is affecting more and more people.

Our classes
give
participants practical advice on personal safety awareness,
crime prevention and simple, effective physical combat
techniques. It has been documented that learning self-defence
improves self-confidence and reduces stress levels. The
carrying of knives/weapons is absolutely not necessary. The
main victims of knife crime are those carrying them!

Our Instructors
couldn't be more qualified. KB Owner and Chief
Instructor, Kelly Bunyan, has two black belts in Kung Fu and
Kickboxing (3rd Dan) after 23 years of training in the martial
arts; she has been teaching Self Defence seminars to adults
for at least 10 of those years.
Senior KB Instructor, Dalia Terret, is an
ex-Metropolitan Police Officer and Police Officer Safety
Instructor, entering her 27th year of training in
the Martial Arts.
With the philosophy that
the best advice is to RUN ... the children couldn't be in
better hands! Kelly and Dalia refrain from teaching
children punches and kicks at the first street defence
workshops, to ensure that they are not passing on the wrong
skills to the attendees. Instead, they teach the
following:
|
· Avoidance/Awareness
Tactics |
|
·
Diffusing a
situation |
|
· Blocking
techniques |
|
· Strangle
releases-Front and rear |
|
· Knife
Defence |
|
· Stranger
Danger |
The children are
continually reminded throughout the lesson that where
possible, they must just simply hand over their possessions to
an attacker, demonstrating that they value their lives rather
than material wealth and RUN!
However, should they be in
a confined space and have no alternative, then they can use
the footwork, evasion and strangle release ideas we taught
them.
More than 30 children were
in attendance; it was a tremendous success. KB Fitness
will be running similar monthly workshops in London, W1 on the
following dates:
The class costs £8 (inc
VAT) per child.
