Clava, recently sent this e-mail to Dalia: "After
years of non-exercising and a stressful and unhealthy life, I
started kickboxing in January as a part of my New Year's
resolutions and I loved it straight away. After around 4
months of intense exercise (nearly every day, approximately 4
hours a week … quite good considering I never did sports
apart from horse-riding!), I still couldn't notice much
improvement in my body. I wasn't even that toned and it
started depressing me a bit… one day, reading the KB
newsletter, I noticed that Dalia was giving nutrition advice
for a very small fee… I wasn't really convinced because
somehow I never believed diets worked that well and because I
didn't want to give up my food but I thought it was worth
trying. After all, Dalia has been my teacher for several
months and there was a big sense of trust towards her… trust
me, it is one of the smartest decisions I have taken in the
past year! Although
very challenging at the beginning, the nutrition plan gave me
motivation both in looking after my health and my exercise
plan. It was quite hard at the beginning, because carbs and
sugars have always been a big part of my life (being Italian,
I love my pasta and bread ;) but the flexibility and the
encouragement provided gave me even more confidence and after
the first 5 to 6 weeks, all my friends noticed the difference.
I dropped another size, finally being able to wear a size 12
trousers comfortably and a size 8/10 top! For me though, it
wasn't really about losing weight, it was more about getting a
leaner body, that showed a bit more my commitment to martial
arts. Now, I have been doing this nutrition plan since August,
it's my "second round" before Christmas and I plan
on continuing it after the holidays too. I have also realized
it improved my metabolism. Although taking a 2-week break in
between the two "courses", I haven't put on a single
pound and my body can burn off fat much quicker. I will
definitely keep in mind all the nutrition tips given by Dalia
for the future: it was a real confidence boost and I'm so glad
I took the decision a couple of months ago!" |
