KB EQUIPMENT

All of the school's kit requirements exist for your protection. As we care about you and your body, it would be reckless of us not to ensure that you are as protected as possible.

We are happy to provide the service of supplying kit to you, to help you save paying postage costs, being home to take delivery, or buying items which do not comply with our insurance company. All items must therefore be purchased through KB Fitness, except for body armour, ask Kelly FN for the link to the correct item.

KB UNIFORM

KB Trousers and KB Top (Vest or T-shirt) should ideally be worn as soon as you want to ‘look the part’. It is not compulsory however until you are grading and attending Tuesday classes. Wearing the uniform provides an instant sense of belonging and pride. It also helps you look more like a martial artist. Imagine having a colourful belt or sash to go with the uniform. Get listed for the NEXT GRADING.

SPARRING KIT

There is no 'minimum' equipment that you can have for sparring. You need to have the whole ensemble: body armour, head guard, mouth guard, shin pads, kick boots, sparring shoes, gloves, wraps, groin guard for men and breast guards for ladies are all required for sparring. Forearm guards are HIGHLY recommended by KB, though not obligatory in Kickboxing. Points gloves are required in the school's tournaments.

Additional kit required for Kung Fu: forearm guards and points gloves. All kit is to be purchased through KB Fitness.

PACKING & TAKING CARE OF YOUR KIT

> Put your gloves inside your head guard.
> Or attach your head guard to the outside of your bag with the chin strap velcro.
> Put one shin pad inside the other.
> Put your shoes inside your kick boots.
> LABEL YOUR KIT WITH YOUR NAME, in case you lose it.
> Wet wipe your kit at the end of every class.
> Avoid putting gloves and kick boots in the washing machine, it weakens them.
> Spray your gloves with shoe perspirant when you first receive them.

GUMSHIELDS

MOUTH GUARDS MUST BE WORN WITH YOUR HEAD GUARDS - do not put your head guard on without a gum shield. Be sensible. Boiling gum shields in a saucepan for a few seconds, rather than dipping them in a cup of hot water, will ensure a better fit. You can cut part of the ends off if you find wearing them uncomfortable.
