Brands such as Waitrose are recognising the importance of introducing the concept of learning self-defence to their customers. As a direct result, KB Fitness recently featured in Waitrose's magazine, 'Weekend.'

When Waitrose publishes an article about self-defence, it is clearly becoming a pressing subject matter.

Unfortunately, with the continual reporting of instances of violence against women in the mainstream media, fear is mounting.

KB Fitness has been teaching self defence in London for over 20 years. the owner and Chief Instructor, Kelly Bunyan, said:

"Sadly, we are inundated with enquiries for KB Self Defence classes at the moment. It is sad, because it means that people are scared. Learning self defense in London isn't an instant solution, because we have no idea how we will react when faced with a hideous attack. However, it is much better to give ourselves a fighting chance, than no chance at all. Thankfully, our students are more aware and not as fearful."

More and more people are realising how important it is to have such a skill in their toolbelt. Just like we eat well, endeavour to keep fit, we should add attending a weekly self-defence class to the well-being tick list.

As well as learning how to get out of a strangle or being pinned onto a bed, training at KB Fitness assists with boosting self-esteem and confidence. Walking that bit taller after every class is a big advantage.

KB Self Defence Instructor, Dee Terret, ex-Met Police Offiecr and Officer Safety Instructor, said in the interview for the Waitrose magazine:

“We cannot rely on other people's behaviours to keep us safe. We don’t believe in taking chances with personal safety and believe the only person we can rely on is ourselves.”

It is the awful reality we live in, where we cannot feel 100% safe or trust human beings around us.  Would you like to be proactive and sign up to learn valuable skills that could potentially save your life?
