INNER STRENGTH

INNER STRENGTH

24/02/2023

“Strength is often discovered while doing what you thought you couldn’t do.”

KB Fitness posted this quote in the school’s WhatsApp group last week, asking its members to share how they felt this applied to their training experience.

The responses showed that while it’s no secret that martial arts is physically challenging, the mental transformation it brings for people can be even more profound.

Nick was the first to reply: “Great quote! During my blue belt grading, at the very end, I was feeling exhausted and a voice in my head was asking “how

much longer can this go on!?”… but of course, it did end, I made it through the last calls and I got my first ever grading in a martial art to show for it, so yes, totally agree with the sentiment!”

Jess added: “Kelly KB often reminds us of this, when the final calls of grading are the sharpest of the whole day! That mental edge, doing more than you thought possible. It's such a significant part of martial arts training and, I believe, a big reason we get so addicted to it.”

Indeed, Jess, it is a positive addiction to challenging ourselves to do better, to improve and progress.

Training London Kickboxing at KB Fitness builds the inner strength and confidence necessary for KB members to achieve their goals, be it going all the way to KB Black Belt or simply becoming fitter and happier in the dojo – and in life.

“KB showed me that this kind of self-belief and determination can 100% be taught and learned. And that once learned it doesn’t just stay in the dojo!” said Marianne.

Marianne makes an interesting point when saying that the deeper lessons, such as self-belief and determination, are taken and applied in daily life, too. The confidence and resilience taught by Kelly and her team become part of their students’ day to day lives, as martial arts becomes not just a hobby, but a way of life.

Kim also wrote: “It’s transformative to have someone believe in potential that you can’t yet see, and trust that they will work with you to manifest it into reality.”

Kelly KB shared her thoughts on her members’ comments: “I often mention at class that training in my school teaches resilience. When the path ahead is tough and the obstacles are seemingly insurmountable, my teachings literally command you to soar right over them. Time and again, I witness the personal growth, how the spirit is fortified, and it keeps me addicted to being at the helm of all we're achieving as a team.”

KB members share a passion for London Martial Arts. They may spend most of their together kicking and punching one another, but what may not be apparent to an observer are the psychological walls they are soaring over. Training London Martial Arts is transformative in the best way possible.

Are you ready to become stronger in body, mind and spirit? We are ready to help you find your inner strength.
